Meet the Team

Mariana Melcon


Founder of the Global Sustainable Hive, Mariana holds a PhD in Natural Sciences (University of Tuebingen, Germany) and an MBA (University of California, San Diego), and has gathered 15 years of combined experience in the academia, not-for profit and private sector. Mariana’s specialization is bioacoustics and animal behavior and one of her biggest achievements was to found a new research line at a not-for-profit (Fundación Cethus) in Argentina and share her experience at United Nations in summer of 2018 for an open-ended consultative process on ocean noise.

Her current full-time job consists of bringing information through data science to make more informed decisions, while she keeps active mentoring people and channeling her passion for the environment trying new habits and sharing knowledge and ideas with people.

In her personal time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, practicing aikido, and being in contact with nature.

Natalia Robert


Architectural photographer and founder of The Grove, Natalia now calls Southern California home. A BArch, extensive travels since childhood, and a wide variety of work experience have shaped Natalia's love for design and exploration. In 2019, Natalia founded The Grove (www.MeetMeAtTheGrove.com) to provide tools and resources for budding interior photographers. Natalia's photos have been seen on Elle Decor, San Diego Magazine, San Diego Home/Garden Lifestyle, and The Voyager, and her writing has been seen on Digital Photography School, Expert Photography, PhotoBlog, and Layers Magazine.

When she's not shooting, speaking, or writing, Natalia can be found relaxing with her fur baby Daisy, taking day trips to anywhere within a few hours' drive, or spending time with friends and family.

Cecilia Eyssartier


Cecilia Eyssartier has a PhD in Biological Sciences (University of Buenos Aires - UBA). She is also a high school biology teacher and a Waldorf teacher. She developed her research in the area of Ethnobotany, studying edible and medicinal plants from rural and semi-rural communities from Northwestern Patagonia (Argentina). Currently, she carries out her investigation about formal and informal plant learning of children at school, developing innovative contributions to education. She is a teacher at "Eureka" Institute (La Plata, Argentina), as well as a member of the Experimental Sciences department and the teacher-training course of the same institute. She is also co-founder of Qumara, Nutrition and Regeneration, a private enterprise for research and promotion of human health through vitalizing nutrition and body cleansing habits in daily life. She performs activities for children and young people integrating science, art and nutrition; promoting the connection with nature through experiential learning for a healthy child development.
